Speaking of marriage, it’s been Glacier Point Wedding two years since the real thing was implemented in America. Before that date, people used to get ‘married’ when they decided they were ready. But now, with this new law requiring people to be married if they want to make babies, there has been a dramatic increase in marriages and not just straight ones.
Since same-sex marriage is allowed under the new law (and all other forms of long-term relationships), we’ve seen many homosexuals and bisexuals choosing to finally be open about their orientation and marry someone who enjoys the same sex as them. This has forced churches and other religious groups to either accept these changes or face heavy penalties from The U.S Government for discriminating against homosexuals after marrying heterosexual couples.
Whatever your opinion on the matter, one thing is for sure; weddings are now a big business in America. Just take a look at Glacier Point Wedding in Yosemite National Park. This beautiful spot, which used to be popular for proposals and elopements, is now host to dozens of wedding ceremonies every week! If you’re looking for a picturesque location to say “I do”, then look no further than Glacier Point.
Getting married at Glacier Point is definitely not cheap though. Depending on the season, you can expect to pay anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 for a wedding ceremony and reception. But if money is no object and you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, then a wedding at Glacier Point is for you!
As soon as I finished reading the article, my eyes widened in shock. One thousand dollars a month? For a three-room apartment?! Like any other resident of America, I knew how expensive rent was but had no idea it was this bad. The cheapest apartment near where I used to live was going for nearly $1,700 a month and that’s only slightly bigger than the one depicted here. A new article in the magazine caught my eye before I could get too angry at my new neighbors.
One-room apartments are basically just closets with beds in them so two people have to share everything from toothbrushes to bathrooms. Three-room apartments give you some space from your roommates and usually have a living room, kitchen, and at least one bathroom.
The rent for a three-room apartment may be high but it’s worth it according to the article. Apparently, many people are moving into these apartments because they don’t want to waste time commuting to work. I can understand that. After spending two hours on the train every day, the last thing I want to do is go home and do more work. But is an hour extra at home really worth an extra thousand dollars a month?

As I was reading this article, I couldn’t help but think about my own situation. I’m currently paying $1,200 a month for a one-bedroom apartment that’s a 20-minute walk from my office. I can’t imagine paying $1,000 more for an apartment that’s only five minutes away.

The high cost of rent in America is definitely a problem but it’s not just limited to big cities like New York and Los Angeles. Prices are rising everywhere and it’s beginning to get out of control. I think it’s time for the government to step in and do something about this. Or better yet, build more affordable housing so people can live closer to work without having to spend their whole paycheck just on rent!
I’m not hopeful that anything will be done though because I’ve learned that there are always going to be problems in every country no matter how small they may seem. We might as well get used to them now since we’re probably going to see a lot more of these issues when we move abroad!
