    How to Take Admission to Delhi University BCom?

    Delhi University is one of the most reputed institutions in India for delivering higher education. It is a prestigious institution for various degree and diploma programs. Amongst its reputed courses, BCom is one of the best and highly chosen programs out there. 

    Every year, many students take admission to this course as it’s a career-oriented program that offers many job opportunities to the students. Admission to Delhi University B Com program is done through a merit-based admission procedure. Students must know the eligibility criteria for taking admission to the BCom course.     DU UG Programs Cut-Off List Schedule

    Declaration of First Cut Off: October 1, 2021 (Friday)

    Application window open for 1st cut-off: Oct 04 –  Oct 06th, 2021

    Last date of fee payment for first cut-off: 8th of Oct, 2021 till 5 PM (Friday)

    Declaration of 2nd Cut-Off by the College: October 9th, 2021 (Saturday)

    Application window open for admission: 11th of Oct – 13th of Oct 2021

    Last Date of fee payment: October 15, 2021 (Friday)

    Declaration of 3rd cut-off: 16th of October, 2021 (Saturday)

    Admission Portal Active: 18  –  21st October 2021

    Last date of Fee Payment: October 23, 2021

    Declaration of Special Cut-off: 25th October, Monday

    Application window active: 26 Oct – 27 Oct 2021

    Last date of fee payment: 29th October 2021

    4th Cut-off Declaration: 30th of October, 2021

    Application window active for Special Cut-Off Drive: 1st and 2nd November 2021

    Last Date of Payment of Fee: 6th of November, 2021

    Declaration of 5th Cut off: 8th of November, 2021 (Monday)

    Application window active: 9th and 10th November 2021

    Last date of Fee Payment: 12th of November, 2021

    Declaration of Special Cut-off Drive on Vacant Seats: 13th of November, 2021 (Saturday)

    Application Window Active: 14th  – 15th Nov

    Last Date of Fee Payment: 16th November 2021

    Note: The special cut-off list will be only released if seats are vacant for the particular course or program.

    Criteria of Eligibility

    Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before taking admission to the program. The details regarding the same are mentioned on the official website of Delhi University or you can also check your prospectus for the same. Let’s know the eligibility criteria in detail:

    Students must pass class 12th examination or equivalent from a recognized or valid board of education. The minimum required marks will be based on the course selected by the candidate. There is no age bar for taking admission to UG courses at Delhi University.

    BCom (Hons)

    In order to get admission to BCom (Honours), students need to achieve at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institution with Mathematics or Business Mathematics subject.

    Necessary Instructions: Students must score at least 60% marks in aggregate with any of these three subjects: business Studies, Accountancy, Mathematics and Economics etc. It is also noted that the inclusion of any other subject other than the mentioned list from the set of best three will deduct 1% marks/subject that leads to the deduction of at least 2% marks in aggregate. It is also noted that the inclusion of any other subjects other than the List B subjects will give a deduction of 2.5% per subject on the best four aggregate marks. Also read: Online MBA Programs!

    BCom 

    In case you want to take admission to a general BCom course, then you need to check some guidelines and instructions. Let’s check the complete instructions provided below:

    At least 60% marks are required with the best three commerce subjects including one language subject be it Hindi/English. The commerce subject must include 3 from these: Business Studies/ Mathematics, Commerce, Business Studies etc. Inclusion of any subject other than the options provided in list B will give a deduction of 1% per subject that leads to the loss of 2% marks in total percentage.

    Some Important Points to Know Related to Grade Conversion

    Candidates must ensure that they got enough marks to get admission to the program as per their preference. They need to convert their grades if they have got grades in their class 12th examination. Candidates must check the criteria of eligibility just before sitting down to fill the admission form.

    The grade conversion table is mentioned below:

    • 96-100: mid 98
    • 83 – 95: Mid 89
    • 70 – 82: Mid 76
    • 56 – 69: Mid 62.5
    • 41 – 55: Mid 48
    • 21 – 40: mid 30.5
    • 1 – 20: Mid 10.5

    Form Filling Procedure

    The form filling procedure is one of the most important things to take admission to a particular course or program. The details are mentioned below:

    • First of all, you need to visit the official website of Delhi University.
    • Then, hit the UG admissions link.
    • Register yourself with a registration fee. You need to provide mandatory information there.
    • Now, review the cut-off marks and then check in which list or marking section your aggregate percentage falls.
    • Now, take a printout of the cut off marks for the proof.
    • Next, visit the college where you want to take admission as per your cut-off score.
    • There, fill the admission form and pay the course fee.
    • Finally, take acknowledgement for the final admission to the course.
