Disclaimer: I’m not being biased or anything (or maybe I am XD…who knows), but I hope this series gets the much-needed exposure it deserves! You might not agree with me, and that’s mighty fine. I just need to talk about my baes ‘is all.
The series I’ll be talking about is “SK8 the Infinity ( Japanese: SK∞ エスケーエイト;stylized as SK∞ the Infinity )”.
So let’s get on with it and explain why I think it’s the best anime series!
SK8 the Infinity
How do I even begin explaining why this anime series deserves to be the best of the best?
I will try my best to explain why I can’t simply stop re-watching this anime time and time again.
The atmosphere that the creators made with the production of this beautiful anime made me feel extremely motivated to be able to focus on my own passions. It’s that moving and good!
So, let’s get on with it, shall we?
The Amazing Creators!
Skate the Infinity is a Japanese original anime television series that Bones produced and animated and that aired on ABC and TV Asahi’s ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block from January to April 2021.
Even Utsumi Hiroko was also on board. She is a manga artist, animator, director, and storyboard artist from Japan.
Her work with Kyoto Animation is well recognized for serving as the original director of the film Free!
She created and directed SK8, the Infinity with Bones, after leaving Kyoto Animation’s subsidiary business, Animation Do. She also directed the anime adaptation of the Banana Fish manga.
There are 12 episodes in total of this show.

The Plot
The anime centers around skateboarding and adventure!
A teenage skateboarder named Reki introduces his Canadian friend Langa (a new transfer student) to the world of S, a covert, underground skateboarding tournament. Adam, the charismatic and aggressive creator of S, takes notice of Langa.
Langa soon gets in serious danger as a result, but he also uses the opportunity to advance his abilities. This “youth skateboard race clash” features competitors that are both dirty racers and AI racers.
Skateboarding is just one aspect of SK8 the Infinity; it also explores love, passion, and all the other emotions a skateboarder might experience.
The events of the anime take place during a time when it showcases not only the extreme sport present but also human emotions as everyone strives to reach a destination they regard as “Paradise.”
And this program does such an excellent job of capturing this emotion that you can’t help but fall in love with it!
The Characters:-
1. Reki Kyan
Reki Kyan is a youngster in his second year of high school who is deeply obsessed with skateboarding.
He frequently attends the underground skateboarding competition “S,” and Langa Hasegawa, who also got caught up in the race, is a close buddy of his. The main character of the anime SK8 the Infinity is Reki.
2. Langa Hasegawa
Langa Hasegawa, also known as Snow in “S,” is an exchange student who is half-japanese and who just visited Okinawa, where his mother grew up, after spending time in Canada.
Together with Reki Kyan, he gets deeply involved in “S,” an underground skateboard race, and the two quickly get close.
Langa, unlike Reki, has never skateboarded, but his snowboarding expertise gave him an advantage. The primary deuteragonist of the anime SK8 the Infinity is Langa.
3. Hiromi Higa
Hiromi Higa is a character in the SK8 the Infinity anime series and is referred to in “S” as Shadow.
He is a “S” skater who has a reputation for being violent and rowdy among his peers, but who is praised for his helpfulness and dependability at the flower shop where he works.

8. Tadashi Kikuchi
Tadashi Kikuchi, sometimes known as Snake, is a character from the anime series SK8 the Infinity. He is the skater’s original instructor and Ainosuke Shindo’s secretary.
Why it is underrated?
Well underrated in the sense that it didn’t get as much recognition as the other top shows of the year did. It has great character dynamics, the coolest intro, HONESTLY!
I love the song Paradise used for it – it definitely suits the overall vibe of the series. The outro too – the oH oH Let’s keep feelings ~
Only that you will hate the palm trees(anyone who has already watched the series will know what I am talking about XD)!
You can watch animes on anime frenzy app too. There are varieties of animes available to watch there, that too for free!
Upcoming New Season + OVA
On their Twitter, it was announced on July 4, 2021, that a new Sk8 The Infinity Season is now being produced. “New animation project begins,” read the tweet. They stated that the choice had been made to launch Sk8’s new project as a result of the overwhelming support from everyone!
This anime is so much better than those killing-stalking animes. I bet you would like to unwind from watching all those complicated plots.
For the fans, not only a new season but also a new OVA will be launched. There is now no question that it will happen after fans get to see the trailer for the new season.
You can even watch this anime for free – on animesuge.

All In All,
The anime has a manga adaptation. However, it is still an adaptation of the anime. Since it is an anime original, this series lacks any sources from which it may draw inspiration.
So it is really difficult to say where the story will be headed next. But we know it will be great! I can’t wait to meet the whole SK8 gang again.
Thank you for reading up till here. I hope you found the information useful.
